Exercises Following Session 8
By this
stage you need to be getting lots of practice at calling touches of Plain Bob
and other methods and reliably transposing the coursing order, even if you do
not know what to do with it. It is important that the keeping of the coursing
order becomes automatic so try to do so even if you are not calling the touch
yourself.
If you like to ring some bell other than the Tenor then you need to be deciding whether you keep your own personal coursing order or keep that of the Tenor. The latter is the preferred option so that you will become more familiar with the coursing orders that appear most often. Now that you know how the coursing order is affected at each calling place for Doubles and Minor it will be easier to use the Tenor's coursing order when not ringing the Tenor yourself.
Call a wide variety of touches. The selection in the notes contains a couple of touches that use every calling position.
