About The Education Committee
Purpose
The Education Committee (EC) exists to find out what are the education needs of Association members. These needs may be those of individual towers, groups of towers, whole Districts or the entire Association. When particular needs are identified the Committee will endeavour to arrange a suitable course or practice session.
Structure
The EC is made up of two representatives from each of the four Districts. The names of the members for each District are shown on the EC home page. Any of these may be contacted at any time on any education related matter. Emails can be sent by following the links on the EC Home Page.
Activities
The EC organizes courses mainly on two levels: Association level and District level, but local representatives will also organize courses or special practices at individual towers.
At Association level we hope to organize substantial courses on all aspects of ringing from teaching bell handling to ringing spliced surprise and conducting. One theme we are also interested in is that of developing good practice in running a tower.
At District level we organize courses or sessions dealing with particular needs within the District. These might include practices to help people from several towers to get together and try things they wouldn't normally ring. And, of course, it's important to get to know other ringers.
At the most local level we organize sessions for individual towers or small groups of towers, maybe where several learners are at the same stage, to help them consolidate what they learn at their own practices.
